Trip to Montana, and some daddy son bonding time

I just got back from a little trip to Montana to visit old friends and welcome my friend Shelly's new baby boy! I enjoyed the 70ish degree weather and It was fun, I got a little "me" time. however I barely made it 3 days without seeing my boys! It was nice to come home and even nicer that James kept everything nice and clean while I was gone :)

Daddy and Ethan had a blast though! They went swimming at papa's and even to a movie! It was Ethan's first time in a movie theater and he did fabulous! They went and saw Monsters vs. Aliens and he was such a big boy throughout the whole movie! Sadly though I have no picture to post of it, daddy's don't think to take pictures!! But the ticket stub will go in Ethan's baby book :). Needless to say it was a busy weekend for all three of us.
Before I left, I also spent some time painting and redoing Ethan's play room! He loves it, and it's much nicer to look at now! One home project down and about a million to go. Time to relax now and gear up for our vacation to Galveston on the 15th! I'll post details about that adventure as soon as we get back :)

Love to all,

Happy Father's day!!

Happy Father's day to all you daddies (and single moms...you get this day too)!!! We celebrated the day with breakfast at IHOP, then we made a flower decoration for my dad's grave and spent the evening at Jim's house eating fajitas that Tina cooked. It was nice, James loved his recordable card with Ethan saying, "I love you daddy"....it was so cute. He also didn't have to change ANY diapers the whole day...happy dad's day to him! I hope everyone enjoyed it with their families!

Power outage, home depot and a birthday party!

The past week has been somewhat of a busy one. Last Thursday night our power went out from the crazy "we're not in Kansas anymore" storm....it was frusterating like i'm sure it was for everyone else, and then it turned into a nice little family evening. All three of us watched Bolt on the laptop (until it died) after which Ethan fell asleep and then we decided to go out for icecream....luckily the power was restored before we had a fridge full of bad food!!

(wow this is one exciting blog, isn't it??)
Saturday we headed out to Art and Kimberly's AMAZING house in Dallas for Kim's big 5-0 bday bash! It was so much fun....good food, great wine and fabulous company! I so wish that I could live there.....
Happy Birthday Kim!

anywho that's pretty much all the excitement we were able to cram into one week! Sunday was filled with a trip to home depot and talking about our home improvement plans (the list is never ending!!) We're starting with painting the play room and replacing all the inside doors....and sometime in between all that we'll get to repainting my grandma's old bedroom furniture for our room....good thing i'm off until the end of August, I've got my work cut out for me :) Sorry this blog was lacking in excitement, I'll have to step it up a bit in the next one to make up for it :) until next week...
Love to all

trying something new!

hello everyone! I hope that you will all like my new blog :) I decided that we needed a way for all our friends and family (near and far) to keep up with us and watch Ethan grow! I finally got tired of myspace and facebook...there's just so much clutter, and this way I don't have to deal with that!! So just a little update on us....

James is still working for autobahn volkswagon in fort worth as a technician. He likes his job (most days!) and it gives us the oppourtunity for me to stay home with Ethan on the days i'm not in school. I'm off for the summer and go back to finish my LAST semester of nursing school the end of August!!! That's right come December I'll be a college graduate and ready to start my new career! Two incomes will definatley lessen our financial stress and allow us to consider new options such as a bigger house, and maybe another little one :) (Calm down mom....I said maybe!!) Ethan started swimming lessons at the YMCA this summer, and hopefully he'll learn something! So far he's more interested in the other kids and the giant slide in the pool that they are not allowed to go down. But each day is a little better (baby steps). So I promise to keep everyone updated on what's going on in our lives and post alot of pictures :) (since i know that's what makes a blog interesting!!

Love to all, and I hope this will be fun for everyone! :)
